The cornerstone of every responsible administration is to initiate and execute programmes aimed at raising the standard of living of the people.
The administration of Dr.John Kayode Fayemi was incubated in a long drawn struggle of close to four years since the April 14, 2007 election to actualize a stolen mandate which was finally resolved in his favour by the Court of Appeal on October 15, 2010.
His Government was inaugurated on October 16, 2010 and no stone has been left unturned ever since to move the State forward. With tenacity of purpose and doggedness, the administration identified an 8-point agenda as the Roadmap to Ekiti Recovery.
In his inaugural speech, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the People’s Governor stated:
We have named this a collective rescue mission. The vision is clear; it is not an insurmountable challenge to move beyond our most recent wounds. In fact, our only choice is to continue on the path of reconciliation and renewal towards a modest state because Ekiti is bigger than us all.
In the last one year, the Governor has opened a chapter of good governance and remains the cynosure of all eyes by making civility, productivity, efficiency, accountability and transparency his guiding principles. His 8-point agenda is cardinal and all embracing, capturing namely Governance, Infrastructural Development, Agriculture, Education, Human Capital Development, Health Care Services, Industrial Development, Tourism, Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.
